    Job Description:

    Provides technical support to Valero companies on loss prevention issues including projects, standards, facility siting, fire protection, mechanical reliability and integrity, risk assessment and prioritization, and loss investigation and recovery. Also supports insurance underwriting activities and site surveys. Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management and every aspect of operations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
    • Generates, updates purchase orders for storehouse stock, and interfaces with suppliers to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of pricing and lead times.
    • Maintains all aspects of M&S inventory including issues, receipts, adjustments, returns, physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Develops/Implements action plans to correct discrepancies.
    • Provides support and assists Purchasing with the implementation of consignment agreements.
    • Inputs/analyzes data associated with cycle/physical counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
    • Supports and assists, as required, Purchasing, Accounting, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering in SAP issues affecting equipment bills of materials, requisition processes, purchase orders, and invoices.
    • Adheres to all safety rules and procedures as established by the company.
    • Ships all non-hazardous and hazardous materials out of warehouse.
    • Resolves invoice and receiving discrepancies to assure proper workflow between warehouse, purchasing and accounts payable.
    • Recognizes when computer feedback does not satisfy warehouse system requirements and takes action accordingly.
    • Sets up and maintains material masters.
    • Receives feedback on services provided from suppliers and field customers.
    • Generates SAP MRP reports, purchases replacement stock, monitors inventory levels and adjusts max/min accordingly with manager’s approval.
    • Ensures TA inventory material as required.

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Ability to work with others to accomplish challenging assignments required.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Knowledge of Automated Warehouse systems and previous exposure to data processing and accounting required.
    • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods required.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements required.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Accounting experience preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, procurement, and/or refinery operations/maintenance required.
    • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes required.
    • Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization required.
    • Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications required.
    • Basic skill using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel) required.
    • Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required.
    • Experience in computer-based purchasing and inventory required.
    • Experience in a refinery environment preferred.
    • SAP experience preferred.
    • Ability to cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage department responsibilities required.
