Job Description:

ExxonMobil Chemical Company has a research technologist position available within the Process Research East Laboratory in Baytown TX. The successful candidate will join the department and support laboratory scale research and development. Job responsibilities will include a large variety of laboratory functions while maintaining high quality and safety standards

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform minor instrumentation and piping work
• Execute and oversee change management
• Operate and maintain laboratory scale research process units
• Unit / lab notebook record keeping
• Analytical equipment operation (eg. GC, GC/MS)
• Unit and analytical troubleshooting
• Wet benchtop chemistry (Catalyst preparation, etc)
• GC method development / modification
• Data manipulation, calculation & workup for figures of merit
• Order lab supplies and submit work orders
• Implement LOTO on complex systems

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Excellent mechanical skills
• Chemstation / openLab analytical software knowledge
• Highly advanced troubleshooting abilities and skills
• Requires BS or MS in a Scientific Field
• Intimate knowledge of research process equipment (ie. Mass Flow Controllers, pumps, etc)
• Labview process software knowledge
• SAP Workorder system knowledge
• Understand Process Safety Shutdown Systems and logic
• High multi-tasking abilities
• Wonderware process software knowledge
• Ability to understand highly complicated process equipment
